Tip #2 Wipe down the walls and doors (yes, doors).

Walls can actually get dirty over time. You can take a damp cloth or a wet Swiffer mop, and wipe down the walls. Be prepared to be amazed at what you find on the cloth, when you are done. Also, be prepared to see your walls look a little brighter, once again. Depending on what kind of door(s) you have, you may be using Windex or a multi-surface cleaner. Either way, make sure you wipe it down.

Tip #3 Clean the windows.

If you have curtains in your office, they should be given a wash (either by hand, washing machine, or dry cleaning- please read the label). Tip #6 Pay close attention to computers and keyboards.

Tip #7 Don’t forget other electronics/machines!

The printer can be dusted (any keys on it can have a wiping down). The phone(s) need some TLC, too! Take a look around- if you have something in your office that isn’t on this list, it still needs some attention. If you can wipe it/clean it, then wipe it/clean it. If you can only dust it, then dust it. Just get it clean.

Tip #7 Clean the desks.

“Cleaning the desks” can mean both tidying- as in paperwork- and wiping down with a good cleaner. It’s easier to be taken seriously with a clear workspace (ie your desk). 

Tip #8 Clean the floorboards.

Once more, the Swiffer (or a product similar to this) will come in handy for you to wipe down the floorboards. This is another forgotten place (or at least a not-cleaned-more-than-once-a-year place) and should have a good wipe down.

Tip #9 Move all the furniture and give the floor a thorough cleaning.

Tip #10 Don’t forget the restroom!

This space is liable to used daily- multiple times, so it definitely needs to be cleaned well (and daily).

• Dust its light fixtures.
• Wipe down its walls and doors.
• Clean the toilets and sinks.
• Wipe down the paper towel dispenser.
• Wipe down the floor boards, if any.
• Give the floor a thorough cleaning.
• Check on the soap dispenser and towel paper dispenser daily. Fill these as needed.

Once you have finished giving everything a cleaning, be sure to go back and disinfect. Be sure to read the directions on the label, since some of them require time to sit (and some longer amounts of time than others). Tip #11 Don’t forget the break space, either!

You may already do this, since this is a highly used area, but be sure to wipe everything down in this space, too. In addition to wiping it all down, you should…

• Wipe down the outsides of the appliances (paying particular attention to the spots that are touched a lot, like handles and buttons).
• Clean out the refrigerator (throw out food that has been in there for too long). It would be beneficial to make it an office rule that anything left in the fridge for longer than a week gets pitched. While this does not need to be done every time, it would also be a good habit to wipe the inside of the refrigerator from time to time.
• Wipe down inside of microwave. Microwaving some vinegar in a heat-safe glass for a couple of minutes is a terrific way to loosen any build-up inside of the microwave.
• If you have a dishwasher, you can run a load with only a product such as Affresh or even some vinegar in a dishwasher-safe container. Vinegar is an amazing- and versatile- liquid! 
• Wipe down the Keurig, if applicable.
• Replace the paper towels, as needed, but check on them daily.
